Shadow on Concrete Wall

Diversify the Outdoors

As a woman of color in the environmental field, I advocate for diversity and inclusion of BIPOC in the spaces I work, such as through the blog writing I did during my time as a RAY Conservation Fellow (see below for links). I appreciate organizations such as Environmental Leadership Program, PGM ONE, NAAEE, and Student Conservation Association for providing access to networks and resources for young professionals of color. Clean Oceans

I have been fortunate to have participated in research in the state of plastic pollution in Vietnam, which allowed me to meet and work with Vietnamese conservationists. The field research I was a part of with Ocean Conservancy and MCD Vietnam recently had our project published in May 2021:

Healing in Asian American Communities

I volunteer with organizations who work on building civic engagement, career pathways, community representation, and youth leadership within Asian American and Pacific Islander Communities. There are many organizations I have worked with that do amazing work in these areas such as OCA-Greater Houston, OCA National, and APALA-DC. (Image: American Dream Girl, 2018, Original Painting)
